Sharjah Women’s Sports Clubs Conclude Preliminary Round of Women’s Volleyball League with Two Wins and Prepare for Knockout Stage

Sharjah Women’s Sports clubs concluded their preliminary-round campaign in the 2026 Women’s Volleyball League with two well-earned victories, secured by Sharjah Women’s Sports Club and Khorfakkan Women’s Sports Club at the end of the second-leg stage. The results reflect both teams’ readiness to move into the knockout phase, starting with the quarter-finals.

Sharjah Women’s Sports Club claimed a straight-set victory over Lynx, winning 3–0 in the match held on Saturday, 29 March 2026, at the club’s hall. The team imposed its advantage from the start through clear organization in reception, varied attacking solutions, and strong control over the rhythm of play, allowing it to settle the sets without complications.

Commenting on the performance, Karim Ben Ayed, Head Coach of Sharjah Women’s Sports Club, said the match was an opportunity to consolidate the technical aspects the team had worked on during the previous phase, particularly reception quality and the quick transition from defence to attack.

He noted that the team showed good tactical discipline and an ability to reduce errors, adding that these elements will be essential as the club enters the knockout stage. Ben Ayed also emphasized that preparation for the coming period will focus on raising mental readiness and strengthening performance stability, given the different nature of elimination matches.

In parallel, Khorfakkan Women’s Sports Club continued its positive run with a 3–0 victory over Centrix Falcon Academy in the match held on Sunday, 29 March 2026, at Khorfakkan Women’s Sports Club Hall. The team delivered a balanced performance that reflected its technical readiness and succeeded in imposing its playing style through a stable back line and effective serving.

Buthaina bint Mansour, Head Coach of Khorfakkan Women’s Sports Club, said the team managed the match well, particularly in terms of defensive organization and capitalizing on return balls. She noted that the focus was on maintaining the team’s technical rhythm and minimizing gaps throughout the sets.

She added that the next stage will require a different level of readiness, with greater focus on small details and stronger on-court harmony to match the demands of knockout competition.

These results build on the growing competitive presence of Sharjah Women’s Sports clubs in the league and reflect a path shaped by accumulated technical work and continued investment in collective performance development. The two teams now face a new test in the elimination rounds, where they are scheduled to meet directly in the quarter-finals in a match that will define the next stage of the competition.

This phase underlines the importance of maintaining technical and mental stability, especially in competitions where there is no room for recovery, further highlighting the value of comprehensive readiness as both teams enter the decisive stage.
