Sharjah Women’s Sports Club concluded its 2025–2026 archery season with a strong performance in the final stage of the UAE Indoor Archery Cup, held on June 6 and 7, 2026, at Al Thiqa Club for Handicapped in Sharjah. The club secured 13 medals — six gold, three silver, and four bronze — bringing to a close a season marked by strong competitive performances across different age categories.
The championship brought together leading specialist clubs, including Sharjah Women’s Sports Club, Fujairah Martial Arts Club, Abu Dhabi Archery Club, Mushrif Academy, and D’Archers Club.
On the opening day, June 6, Sharjah’s younger athletes delivered impressive performances. Alya Faisal Al Sharaa claimed gold in the U12 Recurve category, while Fatima Yousuf added bronze in the same event.
Sharjah Women’s Sports Club swept the podium in the U15 Recurve category, with Cambria Patino winning gold, Shamma Jassim Al Kaabi taking silver, and Shahad Jawhar securing bronze.
In the U15 Compound category, Maha Thamer Al Shamsi claimed silver, further underlining the strong presence of the club’s younger age groups in the closing stage of the championship.
The strong results continued on the second day, June 7, across several categories. Marwa Salman Al Baloushi won gold in the U18 Compound event, while Sheikha Abdulghani Al Ali claimed gold in U18 Recurve, with Maryam Abdullah Shalwah adding bronze in the same category.
In the U21 Compound category, Maitha Mohammed Al Nuaimi secured gold, while Amna Al Awadi continued her strong form by winning the Women’s Compound title. In Women’s Recurve, Snehal Divakar claimed silver and Hessa Yaqoub Al Awadi took bronze.
Commenting on the results, Zukhro Tagaeva, Archery Coach at Sharjah Women’s Sports Club, said the final stage provided an important conclusion to a long season of training and competition, reflecting the progress made by the athletes throughout the year. She noted that reaching the decisive rounds and competing for the top positions requires a high level of both technical and mental consistency.
“What made this stage particularly significant was that it came at the end of the season and brought together the top qualified athletes in each category. This made the competition much closer and placed the quality of execution under a real test,” Tagaeva said.
“We are pleased with what the athletes delivered, particularly across the younger age groups. The results reflect the progress achieved throughout the season and our ability to build a competitive base with the potential to continue developing and progressing next season.”
