Sharjah Women’s Sports Club delivered a standout performance at the Shooting Talent Championship, held on 16 and 17 May 2026 at Sharjah Sports Club, with broad participation from 140 male and female shooters aged 12 to 16. The competition featured 10m air rifle and 10m air pistol events across the advanced and beginner categories.
The club’s athletes secured a total of nine medals — three gold, two silver and four bronze — in a tally that reflected both their strong preparedness and continued technical development, as well as their strong presence on the podium, particularly in the air rifle events.
In the 10m air pistol competition for the advanced category, which was held over 60 shots, Reem Al Ketbi won the gold medal, while her teammate Shamma Abbas claimed bronze.
In the 10m air pistol beginner category, Ghayah Al Mazmi secured the silver medal, while Maryam Al Junaibi earned bronze.
The second day of the championship saw exceptional performances from Sharjah Women’s Sports Club athletes in the 10m air rifle competition for the advanced category, where they swept the podium. Tabarak Al Janabi claimed gold, followed by Malak Al Bashar with silver, while Khawla Al Raisi took bronze.
In the 10m air rifle beginner category, the club’s athletes continued their strong showing, with Arwa Al Junaibi winning gold and Noura Saud Abbas taking bronze.
The championship results reflected the growing technical progress of Sharjah Women’s Sports Club athletes in shooting, as well as their ability to compete consistently across different categories amid strong competition in a championship that forms part of wider efforts to identify and develop sporting talent across the UAE.
This participation comes within the broader direction of Sharjah Women’s Sports to develop individual sports and strengthen athletes’ presence in domestic championships by providing an integrated training environment that contributes to building a generation of sportswomen capable of representing the UAE with distinction at regional and international levels.
