Sharjah Women’s Sports Clubs maintained their strong presence at the UAE Vice President’s Cup for Athletics in the Youth and Women categories, held from 10 to 12 April 2026. Sharjah Women’s Sports Club dominated the competition, securing the championship trophies across all categories — Cubs, Youth, Junior Women and Women — while Khorfakkan Women’s Sports Club further strengthened its competitive presence with a number of notable results.
Sharjah Women’s Sports Club established clear dominance on the podium, culminating in a clean sweep of the championship titles across all age groups. The achievement reflects the stability of the club’s technical system and its ability to compete consistently across different stages of athlete development, further reinforcing the breadth and continuity of its success.
In the Youth category, Sara Fahad opened the medal tally with gold in the 100m hurdles, followed by Maria Fahad with silver. Reem Mohammed Al Badwawi added gold in the long jump while setting a new national record, while Rodina Mohammed claimed gold in the hammer throw. In the shot put, Hanan Ibrahim took gold, Maryam Murad secured silver and Ohood Mohammed earned bronze.

In the Women’s category, Aisha Mohammed Obaid Al Hamoudi claimed bronze in the 100m.
Commenting on the results, Hind Al Kabawi, Athletics Technical Director at Sharjah Women’s Sports Clubs, said the championship reflected the stability and continued development of the technical programme.
“The range of achievements across track and field events, together with the new records set during the championship, clearly demonstrates how the training programme is translating into competitive performance,” she said.
“Our focus remains on building long-term readiness while providing the athletes with greater opportunities to compete and gain experience, helping sustain their competitive presence across different championships.”
The results mark a more established phase in the development of athletics across Sharjah Women’s Sports Clubs, combining Sharjah Women’s Sports Club’s clear dominance with Khorfakkan Women’s Sports Club’s steadily growing competitive presence. Together, they reflect the maturity of a system increasingly capable of delivering results across a broad range of disciplines.
