Sharjah Women’s Sports Clubs Open Women’s Volleyball League Campaign with Two Convincing Wins

Sharjah Women’s Sports clubs made a strong start to their campaign in the 2026 Women’s Volleyball League, as both Sharjah Women’s Sports Club and Khorfakkan Women’s Sports Club secured straight-set victories in the opening round of the competition, organized by the UAE Volleyball Association.

Sharjah Women’s Sports Club defeated Abu Dhabi Ladies Club in the match held on Sunday, 18 January 2026, at Sharjah Women’s Sports Club Hall. The team delivered a composed and well-organized performance, taking control of the match from the outset through strong collective harmony and tactical discipline to seal the encounter in three sets.

Commenting on the win, Karim Ben Ayed, Head Coach of Sharjah Women’s Sports Club, said the opening-round victory came as a result of “strong commitment to the technical instructions, particularly in organizing reception, building attacks, and controlling the rhythm of play across the three sets.”

He added that the team “managed to reduce errors and make the most of decisive points at key moments,” noting that the next phase will place greater focus on diversifying attacking options and strengthening mental consistency as the level of competition increases.

Khorfakkan Women’s Sports Club also opened its season with a well-earned 3-0 victory over Epic Academy in the match held on Saturday, 17 January 2026, at Khorfakkan Women’s Sports Club Hall. The team produced a balanced performance that reflected its technical readiness and ability to impose its style of play from the beginning of the match.

Buthaina bint Mansour, Head Coach of Khorfakkan Women’s Sports Club, said the win “reflects the work carried out during the preparation period, particularly in organizing the back line.”

She noted that “high concentration and discipline on court contributed to securing the sets without entering into complicated scenarios,” adding that the challenge in the upcoming rounds will be to maintain this rhythm and continue developing performance gradually as the pace of matches intensifies.

This successful start reflects the outcome of the integrated technical and administrative work within Sharjah Women’s Sports clubs, as well as the continuous focus on building teams capable of competing with consistency. It also supports the wider development of women’s volleyball and strengthens its presence on the local sports scene.
