Her Excellency Hanan Al Mahmoud

Vice Chairperson of Sharjah Women’s Sports

H.E. Hanan Al Mahmoud brings extensive professional experience across management, community development, and the sports sector. Throughout her career, she has contributed to the development of initiatives and projects focused on women’s empowerment, quality of life, and the creation of sustainable environments that support growth and excellence.

She currently serves as Vice Chairperson of Sharjah Women’s Sports, where she supports the implementation of the vision of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah and Chairperson of the Sharjah Family and Community Council, in building an integrated sports ecosystem that empowers women and expands opportunities for participation and development through a model that brings together sport, health, education, and scientific research.

Her professional journey has been closely connected to the Arab Women Sports Tournament since its early roots as a GCC women’s competition. Through her previous role at Sharjah Ladies Club, she contributed over the years to several organizing and executive committees, accompanying the event’s evolution into one of the region’s leading platforms for women’s sports. Within this journey, she held several key roles, including Chair of the Corporate Communication Committee for the 2018 edition and member of the Higher Organizing Committee for the 2020 edition, before serving as Vice Chairperson of the Higher Organizing Committee and Chairperson of the Executive Committee for the 2024 and 2026 editions. This progression reflects her accumulated expertise in managing major sporting events and strengthening their institutional presence.

In the field of sports governance, H.E. Al Mahmoud is a member of the UAE National Olympic Committee and has served for two terms on the Board of Directors of Sharjah Sports Council, including the current term, contributing to the development of the local sports ecosystem and its institutional frameworks. She is also a graduate of the Sharjah Leadership Program, which prepares capable professionals to take on influential roles across different sectors.

Prior to joining Sharjah Women’s Sports, she served as Chief Executive Officer of Al Jawaher Reception and Convention Centre from 2012 to 2023. She led the project from its earliest stages, overseeing the establishment of the Centre and the formation of its team, before guiding its development over more than a decade and helping position it as one of Sharjah’s leading destinations for events and conferences. Earlier in her career, she held the position of Head of Business Management at Sharjah Ladies Club, further strengthening her expertise in business management, services, and event operations.

She also holds leadership and advisory roles across several organizations, including membership on the Board of Trustees of Rubu’ Qarn Foundation for Creating Future Leaders and Innovators, membership of the Advisory Committee of Sharjah Hospitality Group, and previous membership on the Board of Trustees of the Sheikha Jawaher Award for Sports Family. She has also participated in a number of national committees and programs related to sport, leadership, and empowerment.

H.E. Al Mahmoud holds a Bachelor’s degree with Honors in Management Information Systems and Marketing from the University of Sharjah, in addition to several specialized certifications in leadership and protocol. She believes that the true development of sport begins with investing in people and building integrated environments that nurture ambition and create pathways for sustainable success.
