BUILDING A LEGACY OF FEMALE SPORTS STARS
SHARJAH: Sharjah Women's Sports Clubs (SWSC) is a pioneering institution dedicated to promoting Women's Sports and community involvement. By providing access to training and all means possible, Sharjah Women's Sports Club empowers them to soar to new heights, competing on local, regional, and global stages. The Club was established by the decree of the chairperson of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports under number (31) for the year 1982. Later, it received a significant boost in 2018 when His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, issued a decree to establish and transform it into a specialized women's sports club. Sharjah Women's Sports Club is dedicated to the advancement of women in sports at various age levels, providing them with all the necessary support in terms of coaches, administrators, and state-of-the-art equipment with the highest possible level of efficiency and experience. The club began its journey under the name "Al-Muntazah Girls Club" in 1982 and witnessed the opening of its main building in 2020 by Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Bint Muhammad Al Qasimi, wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, and the Chairperson of Sharjah Women’s Sports Organization. The club is headquartered in the Emirate of Sharjah and has several branches in various suburbs to serve women's sports, including the Eastern and Central regions of Sharjah. It is also aimed at serving the entire sports sector in the emirate in all aspects. The club aims to nurture a generation of promising female sports stars while fostering a sports culture among women in society. Since its inception, Sharjah Women's Sports has been at the forefront of promoting Women's Sports in the UAE. The club has achieved remarkable success in various local, regional, and international competitions, nurturing a generation of talented female athletes who have represented the country proudly. To achieve all these goals, all necessary resources have been allocated, including sports facilities and technical and administrative staff. The latest addition is the opening of the Sharjah Women’s Olympic Sports Centre in Al Falah area in February 2024. Sharjah Women Sports Olympic Centre is the first of its kind in the country, built in record time to the highest international standards. It is intended to be a significant enhancement to support women's transition from amateur to professional sports and contribute to women's sports careers in the UAE. The unique facility boasts gymnasiums, open and closed stadiums, and specialized buildings for disciplines such as taekwondo, judo, karate, archery, table tennis, fencing, and more. It includes an Olympic athletics track, a shooting range, and an administrative building with modern amenities, including a full-fledged medical Centre and a Centre for developing sports performance.

SWSC OBJECTIVES
Serve the sports sector in all aspects and develop women’s sports in the UAE in general and Sharjah in particular.
Highlight the role of UAE female players in all sports events, participate in regional and international competitions, and encourage UAE female players to take part in different sports.
Develop an integrated system that conforms to the best international practices in order to develop administrative systems of the sports sector in Sharjah.
Develop and empower national cadres in the field of sports.
Create a generation of qualified sports leaders by recruiting and developing cadres in cooperation with relevant authorities and international institutions.
Promote the sports culture to the women’s community, raise community awareness regarding the importance of practicing sports, and create a motivating sports environment that contributes to developing women’s sports.
Enhance the status of Sharjah as an International, regional and local destination in the field of women’s sports.
Contribute to developing legislation related to sports activity in general and women’s sports in particular.
Develop and encourage initiatives aiming to develop sports games all over UAE and Sharjah.
Establish relations with different sports institutions and clubs within the framework of UAE policies and directions.
