Sharjah Women’s Sports Club Shines at the Final Specialized Athletics Championship
(Track and Jumping Events)
The Final Specialized Athletics Championship (Track and Jumping Events) concluded on Sunday, February 2, 2025, showcasing fierce competition among three of the UAE’s leading sports clubs: Sharjah Women’s Sports Club, Abu Dhabi Athletics Club, and Emirates Cultural Club. The event was marked by outstanding performances from athletes across different age categories, reflecting the remarkable growth and development of athletic talent within the region.
Sharjah Women’s Sports Club athletes delivered exceptional performances, dominating various track and jumping events. In the 80m hurdles, Rawda Al Jabri claimed the gold medal with an impressive display of speed and technique, followed closely by her teammate Sara Fahad, who secured the silver, highlighting the strong internal competition and depth of talent within the team.
In the 80m sprint, Shaloy Riley showcased remarkable sprinting prowess to clinch the gold medal, while Aliya Khalid Saeed delivered a commendable performance, earning the bronze. The middle-distance events saw equally strong performances, with Aliya Al Muhairi securing the silver medal in the 1000m race, followed closely by Hamda Jassim Ahli, who took the bronze, reflecting the athletes' endurance and strategic racing skills.
The long jump event witnessed a dominant performance from Sharjah athletes, with Shahd Rashid leaping to gold, Reem Al Bedwawi taking silver, and Samar Saleh earning the bronze, showcasing precision, strength, and technical mastery in one of the most challenging field events.
In the junior category, Reem Youssef excelled in the 100m hurdles, securing the gold medal with a commanding lead. Aliya Al Ali demonstrated impressive speed in the 100m sprint, earning a well-deserved silver medal. The middle-distance events continued to highlight Sharjah’s dominance, with Asmeeta Janesh winning gold in the 800m race, while in the long jump, Alyazia Tariq achieved gold with an outstanding jump.
The youth category saw further successes, with Mouheera Al Ketbi sprinting her way to gold in the 100m race, and Krikata showcasing exceptional jumping ability to claim the gold medal in the long jump.
In the highly competitive women’s category, Fatima Ali Al Baloushi secured the gold medal in the 100m sprint, with Mouhira Abdulrahim following closely to earn silver. The long jump event featured stellar performances as well, with Abeer Al Baloushi claiming gold and Dina Gharsalli taking silver. In the grueling 5000m race, Khadija Al Naqbi demonstrated remarkable endurance and determination to secure the bronze medal.

Adding to this, Waleed Abdel Latif Saber, Athletics Coach specializing in Pole Vault and Jumping Events, highlighted the technical growth of the team: "The athletes demonstrated exceptional levels of performance in the jumping events, particularly in their technical execution and ability to perform under competitive pressure. Our focus on refining technical details during training has been a key factor in achieving these results. We continue to develop their physical and technical skills to ensure consistent excellence at both local and international levels."
