SWSC Conclude International Training Camp in Preparation for the Arab Cup and Fujairah International Taekwondo Championship
Sharjah Women’s Sports Club, Kalba Women’s Sports Club, and Khorfakkan Women’s Sports Club—operating under the umbrella of the Sharjah Women’s Sports (SWS) —have successfully concluded an intensive international training camp held at the Sharjah Women’s Olympic Sports Center. The camp, which took place from January 22 to February 4, 2025, was part of the clubs’ preparations for the 5th Arab Cup for Taekwondo, scheduled from February 5 to 7, and the 12th Fujairah International Taekwondo Championship, taking place from February 9 to 13, 2025.
The camp featured 49 female athletes from various age groups, providing an excellent platform for intensive training and athletic experiences exchange. Teams from Uzbekistan, Russia, Kazakhstan, and Egypt participated, offering the athletes invaluable exposure to diverse training styles and competitive techniques. This diversity in tactical and technical approaches enriched the athletes’ experiences, contributing significantly to their skill development and readiness for upcoming competitions.
Technical Director’s Statement
Abdullah Hatim, Technical Director of Taekwondo at Sharjah Women’s Sports Club, highlighted the significance of the camp, stating: "As we approach key tournaments like the Arab Cup and the Fujairah International Championship, this camp has been a strategic milestone in enhancing our athletes’ technical performance. The participation of high-level international teams provided our players with critical exposure to new competitive environments, sharpening their skills and boosting their confidence ahead of these major events."
He added: "Our focus during this camp was on executing precise training programs aimed at improving both the physical and tactical aspects of our athletes’ performance. Special attention was given to adapting to the diverse playing styles presented by the international teams. This has enabled our athletes to develop a deeper understanding of different competitive strategies, fostering greater confidence and resilience as they prepare for the challenges ahead."
