SWSC Shines at the 3rd International Archery Open
Sharjah Women’s Sports Club athletes delivered standout performances at the 3rd International Archery Open held on April 12–13 at the Sharjah Police Officers Club. The tournament welcomed competitors from 19 countries and featured intense contests across individual and mixed team events.
Golden Synergy in Mixed Team Competitions
In the compound mixed team category, Sarah Al Mazmi teamed up with Ahmed Mostou to win the gold medal, while Amna Al Awadhi and Nasser Al Rashidi claimed bronze in a performance that highlighted exceptional coordination.
In the recurve under-18 mixed team event, Noura Al Mazmi and Mansour Al Ketbi clinched gold, followed by Mona Faisal and Salem Al Kaabi with silver, and Shahad Johar and Khalifa Al Kaabi securing bronze—resulting in a full Emirati podium.
Meanwhile, in the women’s recurve mixed team competition, Hessa Al Awadhi and Stam Al Mutairi earned silver, while Maha Al Hosani and Mujahed Adam rounded out the podium with bronze.
Individual Brilliance on the Podium
Sharjah’s archers continued their success in the individual finals. Amna Al Awadhi secured gold in the compound women’s event, with Sarah Al Mazmi taking bronze after an intense final round.
In the under-18 recurve category, Samia Odinayeva captured gold. In the senior recurve women’s final, Maha Al Hosani claimed first place in a commanding performance, followed by Rasha Yahya in second and Snehal Devkar in third.

Ms. Mai Al Ameri, Deputy Director of Sharjah Women’s Sports Club, praised the players’ achievements and their professional mindset throughout the championship:
“This success is the result of focused planning and consistent support. Seeing our athletes raise the UAE flag on international podiums is a proud moment that reflects our club’s commitment to nurturing excellence in women’s sports.”
Elena Lapsina, the team’s Technical Director, noted that the results were a testament to the athletes’ growing skill and discipline:
“Some of our archers competed from 60 meters for the first time at an official event—and they handled it with remarkable composure. This event was technically demanding, but the results confirm we’re moving in the right direction through a structured, progressive training program.”
