SWSC Shines at the 30th Al Dhaid Ramadan Shooting Championship
Impressive Performances in Air Pistol and Air Rifle Events
Sharjah Women’s Sports Club (SWSC) delivered remarkable performances at the 30th Al Dhaid Ramadan Shooting Championship, which concluded with strong participation from local clubs. The competition featured air pistol and air rifle events for junior and senior categories, showcasing intense rivalries for podium finishes.
Notable Results in Junior Air Pistol and Air Rifle Events
On Saturday, March 15, 2025, the competition kicked off with the 10m Air Pistol event for junior shooters, featuring 13 participants. Reem Al Ketbi impressed with a third-place finish, scoring 544 points. Meanwhile, Sara Al Balushi, Janna Al Ali, Noora Al Balushi, and Laila Abdullah showcased strong performances, gaining valuable competition experience.
In the 10m Air Rifle junior category, which featured eight competitors, Fatima Al Suwaidi secured second place, while Malak Al Bashar claimed third place. Promising performances were also displayed by Mona Al Hosani and Nouf Al Hammadi, demonstrating their growing potential in the sport.
SWSC’s Senior Shooters Dominate Air Rifle and Air Pistol Events
The championship continued on Monday, March 17, 2025, with the 10m Air Rifle competition for senior women and men, featuring nine competitors. SWSC shooters swept the podium, with Yasmeen Tahlak securing first place, Shorouq Al Ali taking second place, and Salha Al Ali finishing third.
In the 10m Air Pistol senior category, which saw 12 competitors, Alya Al Blouki and Mariam Al Shuwaibi demonstrated strong determination and gained valuable experience, despite missing out on the podium.
Coaches Praise SWSC’s Progress and Determination
Milica Sretenovic, Air Rifle Coach, commended the notable improvement in precision and composure under pressure, stating: "The competition was fierce, but our shooters’ determination and focus signal a promising future in the sport."
Sergey Gennadievech, Air Pistol Coach, highlighted the importance of continuous development, adding: “This experience provides strong motivation to enhance our shooters’ skills ahead of future competitions. Despite challenges, this championship was a key opportunity to evaluate performance and pinpoint areas for improvement. We will focus on refining these aspects to ensure even stronger results in upcoming events."
