Strategic Partnership with Sharjah Children Leads to Major Arab Achievement for SWS
The athletes representing Sharjah Women’s Sports concluded their participation in the 2025 Arab Judo Championship with outstanding results, marking another milestone in the organisation’s journey of excellence. Held at Princess Sumaya Hall in Amman, Jordan, on April 12, the competition featured national teams from the UAE, Jordan, Iraq, and Lebanon.
The UAE delegation included 10 athletes across the junior and cadet categories, representing both Sharjah Women’s Sports Club and Kalba Women’s Sports Club. The team secured 10 individual medals: 4 gold, 4 silver, and 2 bronze. In the team rankings, the team was awarded the overall 1st place team trophy for the junior division and a second 1st place trophy based on medal count, as well as 2nd place overall in the cadet category.
Institutional Integration Behind the Triumph
This achievement is a direct result of the strategic integration between Sharjah Women’s Sports and Sharjah Children, operating under Rubu' Qarn Foundation for Creating Leaders and Innovators. The success stems from the Sports Incubators Project, a pioneering model designed to introduce Olympic sports at an early age, expand grassroots participation, and build a strong pipeline of talent for future international competitions.
The project also includes collaboration with Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah, offering age-specific training programs and technical supervision. Launched in 2022, the initiative aims to familiarise young girls with various sports disciplines and promote an active lifestyle as a foundation for long-term physical and mental well-being.
Leadership Remarks: A Unified Vision
Her Excellency Hanan Al Mahmoud, Vice Chairperson of Sharjah Women’s Sports, stated: "This outcome is a reflection of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi’s vision to nurture youth and foster synergy among institutions under her patronage. These achievements are a direct result of that strategic alignment. We are grateful to Sharjah Children and Rubu’ Qarn for their invaluable partnership and exceptional efforts."
Khawla Al Hawai, Director of Sharjah Children, added: "This accomplishment is the result of true collaboration. What we witnessed at the championship is not a coincidence, but the product of years of investment in talent, training, and empowerment—guided by a vision that believes strong female athletes start with unified institutional support."
Mai Al Ameri, Deputy Director of Sharjah Women’s Sports Club, commented:"This achievement demonstrates the evolving ecosystem of women’s sports in the UAE. Our collaboration with Sharjah Children has produced yet another Arab victory that we dedicate to our nation. We remain confident in our athletes’ ability to shine at every level."
