SWSC Shines with 10 Medals at UAE Karate Federation Cup (Kata)
Sharjah Women’s Sports Club (SWSC) showcased an impressive performance at UAE Karate Federation Cup (Kata)- Individual (Zahrat, Girls, Under-21), held on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at the Sharjah Individual Games Club, Al Hazana. The championship featured elite participation from prominent sports clubs, including Shabab Al Ahli Club, Dubai Police, Mentor Sports Academy, Ewan Sports Academy, Al Hili Center, World Gym Center, Future Talents Academy, and Agyal Academy, alongside SWSC.
Amid fierce competition, the club’s athletes excelled, securing 4 silver medals and 6 bronze medals, reflecting the quality of the training programs and the meticulous guidance provided by the club. These results reaffirm the club's commitment to developing the sport of kata and empowering athletes to achieve excellence.
Outstanding Performances in the Pre-Cadet Category (Ages 6–9)
In the Pre-Cadet category, Lia Sameh delivered a strong performance, earning the silver medal after challenging matches against skilled athletes from various clubs. Fayrouz Mohammed demonstrated remarkable determination, securing a bronze medal with a spirited effort. Additionally, Jawaher Ahmed showcased her talent and contributed another bronze medal to the club’s tally, proving the depth of skill within the team.
Remarkable Achievements in the Girls’ Category
In the Girls’ category, Shahd Mahmoud shone brightly, earning a well-deserved silver medal for her exceptional displays throughout the competition. Meanwhile, Lujain Mohammed, Hamda Ayoub, and Mariam Abdullah displayed remarkable skill and resilience, collectively securing three bronze medals in competitive matches against experienced teams.
Noor Ahmed further distinguished herself by clinching a silver medal after a series of impressive performances. Likewise, Noor Akram showed consistency and determination, earning another silver medal despite tough challenges from opposing teams.
Skill and Determination in the Under-21 Category
In the Under-21 category, Jumana Mahmoud demonstrated her potential and competitive spirit, earning a bronze medal after delivering a commendable performance that highlighted her preparation and evolving skills.
Coach’s Statement
Head Coach Nesma Wanas expressed her pride in the team’s achievements, stating:
"Our athletes have demonstrated their outstanding skills and unwavering determination throughout this championship, which fills us with pride. Despite the challenging competition, the team succeeded in achieving impressive results, reflecting their commitment to training and readiness to overcome challenges."
She added:
"What gives me great optimism is the immense potential of our athletes, which we will continue to nurture to prepare future champions who can represent the club and the UAE at the highest level. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the club’s management and the Sharjah Women Sports (SWS) for its unwavering support, as well as to the technical and administrative staff for their dedicated efforts, which have greatly contributed to this success. We remain committed to striving for even greater achievements in future championships."
