International Table Tennis Training Camp: SWSC Hosts UMMC Russian club team
On Thursday, January 23, 2025, Sharjah Women’s Sports Club started its international table tennis training camp, hosting the Russian club team UMMC. The delegation includes six elite players alongside their technical staff. The camp runs until January 30, featuring intense training sessions held twice daily at the club’s state-of-the-art facilities.
The training camp aims to provide the club’s players with an opportunity to train and compete against a team of international standard, to further sharpen their technical and tactical expertise," .
Commenting on the event, Ms. Mai Al Ameri, Deputy Director of Sharjah Women’s Sports Club, said:
“This camp is a golden opportunity for our players to elevate their performance by training with a team of global experience. We are always committed to providing everything necessary to prepare our teams for upcoming challenges and to nurture a generation of exceptional athletes.”
Anita Sargsyan, the table tennis coach at SWSC, also highlighted the camp's importance, stating:
“This training camp represents a strategic step in advancing the players’ performance. Training with a world-class team like UMMC offers our players a unique opportunity to engage with elite athletes and gain invaluable experience, which will positively impact their performance in the remaining matches of the local league and beyond.”
She added: “We continuously focus on enhancing our players' technical capabilities, particularly their ability to adapt to diverse playing styles. This challenge prepares them to handle various tactics and strengthens their ability to excel.”
The camp features an atmosphere of enthusiasm and well-structured training sessions designed to boost the players’ capabilities, paving the way for new milestones of excellence. This initiative reflects SWSC's ongoing commitment to supporting women’s sports and empowering its players to reach the highest levels of performance and actively participate in local and international competitions.
