SWSC Claims a Convincing Win Against AUD
As part of the Women’s Volleyball League 2024/2025 season, Sharjah Women’s Sports Club delivered an impressive performance, defeating the American University in Dubai in straight sets (3-0). The match, held on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at the American University’s court in Dubai, highlighted Sharjah’s readiness and composure in a crucial face-off against a strong opponent.
The importance of this victory was amplified by the result of the first-leg match, which saw Sharjah narrowly clinch a 3-2 win. This commanding second-leg triumph not only cemented Sharjah’s position in the league standings but also underscored the team’s ability to adapt and improve under pressure.
Sharjah’s head coach, Karim Ben Ayad, expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance, stating, "This match was of great importance due to the closely matched physical and technical levels of both teams. Our preparation began two weeks ago, with a strong focus on mental readiness and tactical adjustments to handle all possible scenarios during the game."
Coach Ben Ayad praised the standout performances of several players, including Alya Nasser, who excelled in the attack, Amina Mal Allah, who showcased exceptional skills as a libero, and Nadwa Waseem, whose defensive blocking played a critical role in securing the victory. "The players’ commitment to the game plan was a decisive factor," Ben Ayad noted. "The balance between defense and attack allowed us to dominate the three sets convincingly."
He also acknowledged the vital support from club officials and the SWS, adding, "The consistent presence of our officials during matches significantly boosted the team’s spirit, motivating the players to achieve this remarkable win."
