SWSC Achieves Outstanding Success in the UAE Karate Championship (Kumite) for Girls and Juniors
In an atmosphere filled with excitement and competitive spirit, the athletes of Sharjah Women’s Sports Club delivered an exceptional performance at the UAE Karate Championship - Individual Kumite for Girls and Juniors, held on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at Sharjah Individual Games Club, Al Hazana. With 17 players representing the club, the team secured an impressive tally of gold, silver, and bronze medals, showcasing their remarkable skills and relentless determination.
Golden Moments in the Girls' Category
The club's athletes excelled across various weight categories. Lujain Mohammed clinched the gold medal in the under -43 kg division, while Shahd Mahmoud earned the silver medal in the under -35 kg category. Mariam Abdullah demonstrated her prowess by taking home the bronze medal in the +43 kg category.
Continuing the success, Noor Ahmed dominated the under -42 kg category with a stellar performance, winning the gold medal, followed by Salma Saeed, who secured the silver medal. Both Sama Jalal and Mariam Ahmed impressed by claiming bronze medals in the same weight class. In the under -47 kg division, Shama Mohammed showcased her strength and skill, earning the gold medal.
Achievements in the Higher weight Categories
The team’s excellence extended to the higher weight divisions. Esraa Bint Hatim took the gold medal in the under -42 kg category, while Rowan Mohammed added another gold medal in the under -47 kg division. Noor Akram contributed to the golden haul with her victory in the under -52 kg category, and Mouza Salem earned a bronze medal in the +52 kg category.
Strong Performances in the Juniors' Category
In the juniors’ events, Raseel Mohammed impressed with a solid performance, earning the silver medal in the under -47 kg division. Meanwhile, Lujain Sameh secured the bronze medal in the under -53 kg category, adding to the club’s impressive medal tally.
Coach's Statement
Radwa Arafa, the team’s coach, expressed her pride in the players’ achievements, stating:
"This championship marks a significant milestone in our journey, showcasing the players’ dedication and commitment to excellence. We aim to continue preparing a generation capable of representing the UAE on international stages."
She further emphasized the importance of support from the club, adding:
