SWS initiatives reviewed as both sides explore opportunities to expand shooting participation among female students<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sharjah Women\u2019s Sports welcomed representatives of the UAE Shooting Federation<\/strong> to its headquarters for a meeting initiated by the Federation as part of its interest in learning more about the school sports initiatives and programs implemented by SWS and exploring opportunities to build on them to strengthen the presence of shooting among female students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The discussions aligned the Federation\u2019s efforts to promote shooting and expand participation with Sharjah Women\u2019s Sports\u2019 work to broaden access to sport and identify athletic potential from an early age.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting was attended by His Excellency Dr. Abdulaziz Al Noman, Sports Advisor at Sharjah Women\u2019s Sports; Alyazia Al Suwaidi, Director of the Women\u2019s Sports Department; and Sheikha Al Khatri, Head of the Technical Planning and Follow-up Section, alongside representatives of Sharjah Women\u2019s Sports Club.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Representing the UAE Shooting Federation were His Excellency Hassan bin Hadiya Al Shehhi, Secretary General of the UAE Shooting Federation, and Dr. Mohammed Amer, Technical Director of the Federation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The SWS team presented the key initiatives and pathways currently implemented within the school environment and outlined how they are delivered across different age groups. Federation representatives discussed ways these pathways could be used to introduce shooting more systematically, while developing progressive operational plans and programs that support continued participation and create opportunities for students to advance toward more specialized levels of training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The UAE Shooting Federation presented several concepts that could be developed within these programs, including the use of laser shooting<\/strong> as an accessible introduction to the sport for students, alongside activities and competitions tailored to the targeted age groups. These approaches could help establish a stronger presence for shooting within schools and broaden its participation base.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Discussions also addressed the use of scientific assessments and testing linked to the specific requirements of shooting to provide a more accurate understanding of students\u2019 physical, technical, and mental abilities. The results could then be used to guide students toward appropriate training pathways based on scientific criteria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Federation also encouraged strengthening the educational component accompanying sports participation by providing introductory and awareness-based content on shooting and its requirements, including physical and mental preparation and sports nutrition. It also expressed its readiness to provide the technical support and specialized expertise required to help implement these programs and develop their content in line with the technical demands of the sport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From an implementation perspective, the meeting discussed the importance of establishing clear indicators to measure the impact of the programs, including the number of participating students, growth in the participation base, and the number of students demonstrating the potential to progress into more specialized training stages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The two sides also discussed preparing periodic reports to measure outcomes and monitor implementation, with the Federation emphasizing the importance of using these indicators to regularly review and further develop the programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting also explored the formation of a working group comprising representatives of the UAE Shooting Federation, Sharjah Women\u2019s Sports, and Sharjah Women\u2019s Sports Club<\/strong> to coordinate the next steps and oversee related programs. The Federation\u2019s technical expertise would also be utilized in developing and reviewing shooting training plans to ensure they meet the sport\u2019s technical requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting reflects the alignment between both organizations in expanding sports participation and using the school environment to reach female students at an early age.
